My Story of Health and Wellness

Nakea Fournier

For most of my life, I believed I was doing “enough” to stay healthy. I cared about nutrition, I understood the basics of self‑care, and I tried to make good choices. But like so many people juggling work, family, and constant stress, I slowly drifted away from my own needs without even realizing it.

In 2018, everything caught up with me.

At the time, I was a mom of two young children, working full‑time in a busy dental office. My days were packed, my nights were short, and stress had become such a normal part of my life that I didn’t even recognize how much it was affecting me. I pushed through every headache, every wave of exhaustion, every sign that my body needed a break.

Then one morning, my body finally said “enough.”

I woke up with intense pressure in my head, but like always, I pushed through and went to work. Within hours, my heart was racing, my sinuses were burning, and something felt terrifyingly wrong. I ended up in Urgent Care, then in an ambulance, then in the ER overnight — and after countless tests, no one could tell me what was happening.

I was sent home with medication that only made things worse. The dizziness, the anxiety, the constant fear… I felt disconnected from myself, like I was trapped in a body I didn’t understand anymore.

I wasn’t just unwell — I was overwhelmed, depleted, and completely out of alignment.

My Path to Health and Wellness

One day, my niece told me she could see my aura — and that it was a dark purple. My sister explained that it meant blocked energy, a spiritual disconnection. I broke down in tears because that’s exactly how I felt. Stuck. Lost. Disconnected from my own body.

That moment cracked something open in me.

I realized I couldn’t keep living the way I was. My body wasn’t failing me — it was begging me to slow down, nourish myself, and pay attention.

I started small.

I tried acupuncture.

I learned breathing exercises.

I began meditating.

I changed the way I ate.

I created space for rest.

And slowly, I began to heal.

I learned that when you give your body even half a chance, it will do everything it can to restore balance. I also learned how deeply the mind and body are connected.

That experience didn’t just change my life — it redirected it.

I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach because I wanted to help others who feel the way I once did: overwhelmed, unheard, and unsure where to turn. I wanted to support people who are tired of not feeling good and ready to understand what their bodies are trying to tell them.

Today, I help clients heal through:

  • Gut‑focused nutrition
  • Functional testing
  • Mindset work
  • Nervous system support
  • Simple, sustainable daily habits

Because healing isn’t about perfection — it’s about awareness, compassion, and alignment.

Your body is always communicating. When you learn how to listen, everything changes.

Change your mind. Change your body. And let your healing begin.
